Hidden in Plain Sight: 1970 Launches on the Global Stage at Palm Beach

Positioned as a new benchmark for owner and charterer experiences, 1970 is a four-night, three-day superyacht rendezvous set for December 2026. Designed for a highly curated audience, the event blends world-class golf, immersive island experiences, and elevated evening programming into a format that allows guests to shape each day entirely to their own rhythm.

By day, guests choose between taking part in a golf tournament at Casa de Campo, (that includes the chance to play the legendary Teeth of the Dog course) or from a selection of handpicked experiences across the Dominican Republic that range from cultural exploration in Santo Domingo to coastal escapes and adventure-led activities. By night, the event transforms into a series of signature gatherings, from a ‘Night Golf’ welcome to a black-tie gala and a headline amphitheatre performance — bringing all guests together in unforgettable settings.

It is, in every sense, a destination revealed, one that has remained hidden in plain sight.

The Palm Beach launch reflected this ambition. The week opened with a formal presentation at the YATCO Destination Forum, where 1970 was introduced to an audience of leading brokers, captains and industry stakeholders. This was followed by a series of curated lunches and dinners, providing a more personal introduction to the event and its vision.

The momentum culminated in an exclusive evening onboard the superyacht Casino Royale, where in collaboration with Superyacht Holdings, owners and charterers were invited to experience the tone and calibre of what 1970 will deliver.

Together, these moments formed a coordinated, multi-layered launch — ensuring 1970 was not simply announced, but meaningfully introduced to every corner of the superyacht ecosystem.
