Lürssen is bringing its name to the fairways of the Dominican Republic as the latest yachting partner of 1970. The renowned German shipbuilder will host the Lürssen Golf Challenge at Casa de Campo from 17 to 20 December 2026, adding a competitive edge to the rendezvous’ sporting programme.
With more than 150 years of shipbuilding heritage, Lürssen is recognised for its engineering, craftsmanship and ability to bring some of the world’s most ambitious superyachts to life. Its reputation is built on precision and performance, qualities that will take on a new dimension at 1970.
The Lürssen Golf Challenge will see players take on two of the Caribbean’s most celebrated courses, Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore. Designed by legendary golf architect Pete Dye, both offer a formidable test of skill, accompanied by spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and the Dominican landscape.
At Teeth of the Dog, seven holes hug the coastline, bringing the sea into play at every turn. Dye Fore offers a different challenge, with sweeping views across the Chavón River and Casa de Campo Marina. Together, the courses set the scene for a competition where sporting prowess meets some of the region’s most impressive scenery.
Lürssen may be best known for what it builds on the water, but at 1970, its focus will turn to the fairways of Casa de Campo. Welcoming a select group of superyacht owners and their closest circles for four days and three nights of golf, incredible experiences and evenings in the Dominican Republic, Lürssen will lead the charge on the fairways. The challenge promises to be a standout moment in a rendezvous that brings the worlds of superyachting and sport together.
"The rebuild of teeth of the dog was spectacular… the conditions now are superb."
