With more than 150 years of shipbuilding heritage, Lürssen is behind some of the world’s most remarkable superyachts, renowned for its engineering and craftsmanship. At 1970, Lürssen is partner of the Lürssen Golf Challenge, bringing its name to the fairways of Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.
Known for building some of the largest and most technically ambitious yachts afloat, Lürssen has earned its place among the leading names in custom superyacht construction. The Lürssen Golf Challenge will see players take on two famous courses, Dye Fore and Teeth of the Dog. Two renowned courses, spectacular Caribbean views and the Lürssen name at the heart of the competition make this a highlight of the 1970 programme.

Lürssen is bringing its name to the fairways of the Dominican Republic as the latest yachting partner of 1970. The renowned German shipbuilder will host the Lürssen Golf Challenge at Casa de Campo from 17 to 20 December 2026, adding a competitive edge to the rendezvous’ sporting programme.

Six yachts. A handful of months. Not one of them resembling the other. For a shipyard operating at Lürssen's scale, that combination shouldn't really be possible — volume and individuality tend to pull against each other, not sit comfortably side by side. Yet 2026 has delivered exactly that: a record year measured not just in numbers, but in how little those numbers have in common with one another.
